WPPI: On The Road – Atlantic City, NJ

If you’re a photographer that has attended conferences, seminars, or workshops that leave you incredibly inspired, you know how I’m feeling right now.  I have to thank Jason Groupp for putting on WPPI: On The Road 2013.  The mix of classes and hands on workshops were equally informative and fun!  The knowledge along with many laughs with great people like Peter Hurley, Ryan Brenizer, Jp Elario, and Jerry Ghionis have me inspired to become a better photographer.  And let’s not stop there!  They’ve also inspired me to be a better person.  I’m always ready to travel to these events because I’m humbled and reminded that being a wedding photographer is about connecting with people and helping them build confidence in front of a camera.  I’m reminded that we’re creating memories that have meaning.  The dynamic range of being photographer is not solely photography but also the person behind the camera and how they interact with their subjects.

There were two moments that I will never forget.  As I’m sure some of my readers know, I’m in a relationship with a pretty amazing guy.  Adam, my boyfriend and also my second shooter for weddings, is someone that I love dearly.  We met through photography, started working together, and now photography has become our lives as a team.  During Jp Elario’s workshop, he took the effort to get a few shots of Adam and I.  After the workshop I stopped and said to Adam, “Wait a second, we’ve never had a professional photograph taken together!”  My heart lit up by the thought of our first couple photos being taken by an amazing photographer that I have always admired!  Then during the next workshop with Jerry Ghionis, he chose us again to photograph!  Talk about an amazing day!  Our first professional photographs together taken by amazing photographers!  The best trip of my life!

The photos that Jp Elario and Jerry Ghionis took of us will be up soon but until then, some photos from my trip:
